I can remember a couple of balls like that, John...loooonnngggg ago...real ballroom too, with huge, old German crystal chandeliers and fine hunt-oak paneling and matching greystone hearths at either end with multiple french doors on both 150 ft long walls that opened onto marble stairs leading down into an emormous Japanese garden curving with white gravel paths and bending bonsai and golden-orange and black and white-speckled Koi lazing in pools perfectly bridged by delicate redwood arcs...and all of it looking out over Puget's Sound...an old lumber money mansion, built two hundred years ago...still fine today...know that's a young building for you over there, but it's an old one for us pioneer-get...
