I love this love that is you this roundhouse punch of a love that is you
and I love all the things that let me drink from your heart like your poetry does
this new voice is stark it absents romance no candied view through a kiss-colored lens
it's that naked truth life as it sits on its end spits in the face of death lets me pulse vitality in each breath you so skillfully pen

Nice tribute to the poem and the poet, Michael. She certainly is blossoming, isn't she? You're saying that some of the more generic love poems are being replaced by love that makes no bones.........Yes, that's it....a more honest treatment of love, without the frills....... That's our Tina.........evolving............as we all are............ Thank you, Michael.

You have no idea how much your poem touched me, Michael. I was brought up with a rather overly-sentimental, romantic view of love and being Southern has exacerbated that view. On the other hand, I am not blind to the details and honesty of life or the journey. It truly helps to be encouraged to evolve in my writing, however, and I thank you so much for this. Love, Tina
