i am a fortunate man.
i have seen the beauty of this world- pink sands of Bermuda, Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Colorado...
steeped myself in the holy waters of the Atlantic and Pacific, and emerged each time
baptized by the swell of the waves, tenderized by the salt in my pores, chilled by the cold of remembrance.
When i was other than now; the image manifest, the dream, not who i am...
i was limitless, imparting heart's truth in hopes of converting others to love.
For who are we but love?
We are dressed in the costumes of jesters, made up, flashing manicured red nails, abdominals sculpted at Gold's, minds cultivated by Michaelangelo, Emerson and Mozart, that sing praises and hymns of gratitude.
We are each other and more- splinters of the Beam, shards of the Light, miniaturized replicas of God.
We must love one another each day, be tolerant of our knots, and be open enough to receive wisdom from the Source.
Only then can we be reunited with our true selves- those from long ago;
blinding with the light of a thousand suns- caressing with the peace of sweet moonbeams...
travelers, migrators, borne like wish flowers on the winds of forever.

beloved Jon, I am hearing your heart in this piece in the same way I hear Rumi's heart speak his ageless voice of poetic prayers----here is universal love of all that is good and right and holy----all the glory that man has as possible to himself while on this Earth, you have revealed in these words describing your own life----we can both see and hear you sing from your fulness, your eternal fulness, and we are very, very gladdened by your song of never-ending light...
michael
ps----very honestly, I don't see any need for any revision...it is perfect...

First trip through the poem, I am struck by the expression of philosophy, Jon. It is a voice I know to be yours, and it carries me through the entire piece. Possibly there is room for some tightning although none jumps out at me. I'll try to read more critically later. For now it is simply enjoyed, my friend. Ron

Within these lines there is a truth and wisdom that exists for those that live and love, peace and the light. In some respects I could say I envy you Jon, but in reality it's truly love and admiration. Awesome pen my friend.

Jon...
wherever you go wherever you are the honey from the Rock will pour Himself upon you and little golden bees will fly in from afar to hover all around and be the tiny blankets Father found to cover your beloved soul and keep you from the cold

Thanks Tina, rama, and Michael once again. Love the image of the individual bees stuck to the honey, creating a blanket. Thank you for the extra effort.......

Jon,
I needed this tonight, as I reflect and examine at years' end. What an incredible piece, a Credo, if you will...yours, and ours all who profess to follow truth. So well penned and cuts to the core of it all. Many thanks for sharing.
