An excellent senryu IMO, Jon. It makes a clear and definitive statement. I find senryu's to be very different from haiku's. In the haiku, imagery alone must speak without the rhetoric; but this is perfect for the form.

I agree with Antman, this is a powerful and tender message and delivered in a succinct senryu style. It is perfect, dear Jon, and touching. and i lke the alliteration of father and firefly.
My heartfelt condolances to Tina...I did not know of this, having been offline awhile.
