I agree Jon. I was trying to get too much out of it the way it was. I had hoped to create the effect that each line after the semicolon stood alone as well as forming a comlete sentence. I don't know how to do that.

Wind,
like love,
blows unless;
of course;
it takes you;
some place;
free.

So it says in effect:

Wind, like love, blows unless of course
Wind, like love, blows unless it takes you
Wind, like love, blows unless some place
Wind, like love, blows unless free
