AN OLD MAN'S HAND
I look down from the computer screen and on the keyboard is a man's hand. I've seen it before, but .........
This hand belongs to an old man. The skin is pale and wrinkled, as if it had seen soaking for hours in the bath tub. And the knuckles of the index finger are swollen with arthritic knobs.
Whose hand is this?

it is just a hand.......isn't it?
but such a determined hand, one that wills to function as best it can, despite its stiffness and aching pain.
it is a hand frequently held high in celebration of all things good and right.
and a hand that has been honor-marked and honor-bent by its long pass through time.
'tis a worthy hand, and one to be respected.

It is indeed a worthy hand, Michael. But I had no idea it was as old as I am now.

okay, I see what you mean.....yes, that has happened to me too----and it WAS a shock to realize that old is what I am now...you have a valid point there...to realize, and accept that it's not pleasant to let go of one's youth...

Got it in one 'cause its me- see.
My son's thinks I'm wise. An' no one said that before ...so best admire what comes out of your head... others do!
