The Drought .
Two State assigned painters at either end of the Dry Gulch County line have a wager Seventy-one days and counting.
Will it or won't it?
The Media Stream gave up-- the dust from their tire tracks left before them.
Both sign-painters wear umbrella hats.
Both poised just in case it drops or not.
A passing skull whistles a tune through its empty eye sockets; laughs head over bleached horns.
The Town Selectmen gather round an open ice-chest of glass bottled Coca-Cola:
They wave makeshift fans from yesterday's Gazette.
Someone whispers, “It's snowing in Montana!”

Ron, I think this was trying too hard.
Took out what distracted me from the painters and the Selecmen.
Two State assigned painters
Seventy-one days and counting.
At either end of Dry Gulch County is a sign-painter wearing an umbrella hat.
Will it or won't it?
The Media Stream gave up-- the dust from their tire tracks left before them.
Both poised just in case it drops or not.
The town's Selectmen gather round an antique chest of ice-cold bottled Coca-Cola waving makeshift fans from yesterday's Gazette.
Someone whispers, “It's snowing in Montana!”
