Someone Else's Waiting Arms
Angel Clementine words GD Martin music
(verse 1) I reminisce and gaze through glass at trees and fence posts zipping past. I drive this truck's familiar ride with you once sitting by my side.
(verse 2) I cry for miles with tears that blind... the mirror shows not far behind the scenes we shared in green and blue; reminds me I'm still loving you.
(chorus) You said, "Goodbye", you "had to go"; said, "I'm the sweetest thing you know." You took your love and all your charms to someone else's waiting arms.
(verse 3) I can't outdrive this pain I feel; I have to climb another hill. The sky ahead is overcast; if there's a storm, this too will pass.
(chorus) You said, "Goodbye", you "had to go"; said, "I'm the sweetest thing you know." You took your love and all your charms to someone else's waiting arms.

Angel, This verse needs some clarity. Not quite sure what the bold lines are trying to tell me.
I'm going to think on this a bit.
Maggie
I cry for miles with tears that blind...
the mirror shows not far behind the scenes we shared in green and blue;
reminds me I'm still loving you.

Maggie, Thank you for asking:
"mirror" (she's looking in the rear view mirror, as she is driving)
she sees "green and blue" in the rear view mirror (green meadows, trees... blue: blue sky)
this is the same scenery shared, while driving a couple weeks earlier with the ex lover
Mentioning colors always works out well in lyrics

Angel, Thanks for the explanation, it helped.
What if you said something like this:
The rear view mirror's full of green and blue
for
the scenes we shared in green and blue;
The rear view mirror's full of green and blue— The ups and downs life gave me loving you—
My charm and sweetness were the lies you spoke, were nothing more to you than that week's joke.
chorus:
Hope and heartache fill/chase the miles I drive I may be hurting, but I will survive.
or
I heard she left you and your heart's in pain.
Maggie
