Roll Back the Stone
Ken_Nye
After a period of rest, peace and silence, cool air and time to think, He rolled back the stone and changed the world.
I have seen souls destroyed, dreams shattered, relationships decayed, self-concepts reduced to shreds. Sometimes they have been near death, sometimes appearing like death walking, sometimes so empty the pupil of the soul indicates nothing, no response at all.
But, deep inside the dark cave of self, there remain traces of spirit, faint impulses, not discernible to anyone but the empty souls themselves. And, given the time and the quiet and the period of peace, the tiny sparks of life grow in strength and intensity, until, with the courage of warriors, the persons once dead rise up off palettes of despair and roll back the stone, stagger into the sunlight where souls start to mend, pieces of dreams begin to fit, disintegrated relationships slowly rebuild, and the faces in the mirror smile again.
Friends will look for them in the cave and find the stone moved, the cave empty, and wonder at the mystery and power and determination to live of the souls they thought were dead.
