I’ve long suspected that expecting the unexpected may result in the unexpected being expected. This is especially so if the expected and unexpected are in some way connected. That is to say, if data is manipulated or adjusted or orchestrated in some way then the outcome becomes ridiculously explicable.
For example the unexpected being expected are invariably connected where the forecast interval is nine months. However this consequential exponential is rarely if ever, mentioned at the time.
