Brisk October blue calls steel to steel…
swaggering steps, trembling earth.
A crescent camera moon of flash points north...
Houndstooth between the hashes.
Tuscaloosa's leaning tower meets the post.
And life morphs into legend.

I like the first four lines----they make sense for a bear----but after that, I'm lost, and don't see any more of the bear at all----help?

This is my fault, Michael. The poem is about Bear Bryant, Alabama's former football coach. I need to make this more clear in the poem, and maybe the title too. Let me change a couple of things.

Great one, Danny. Tuscaloosa and houndstooth gave it away for me. No nits.

I spotted the Bear in this one Danny, but I admit "steel to steel" had me looking for the furry creature instead for a minute. "Houndstooth" and "Tuscaloosa" redirected me as with David. Good stuff. Ron

Many thanks, Ron. I felt I needed to clarify a little bit. Danny
