...went extremely well, I thought, especially considering I was BY FAR the only rhyme and meter practitioner there. If it weren't for the wonderful experience I've had here with fellow EP'ers of different poetic styles, I would've been concerned about the "attitudes" of those 20-something contemporary poets toward a 41-year-old formalist.
The crowd was respectful, quiet and appreciative. I sold a couple of books and received some wonderful compliments from attendees afterwards, and I can't wait to do it again. Time to get out there, outside of my insulated fortress walls, and howl my verse. There were about 25-30 people present, and the artist rendering of "A Shadow Speaks" was a perfect interpretation of the piece.
